This beautiful antique Louis XVI style clock from the end of the 19th century features gilt-bronze putti musicians and porcelain plates. The dial is signed “Miroy Frères Paris.”
The clock has a glass cover topped with musical instruments, including a lyre and two trumpets, and framed by two putti playing the triangle and the tambourine. The clock and the putti are placed on a platform adorned with gilt-bronze garlands of flowers and leaves and three porcelain plates painted with flowers and bright blue.
Musical imagery was highly appreciated by the Louis XVI style , like the imagery used for this clock.
