This beautiful borne Louis XVI style pendulum in Red Griotte marble and gilded bronze is signed by the famous Raingo brothers. The exceptional quality of the bronze can be seen through the elegant chiseling work. The clock is surmounted with an arch, a quiver and an eternal flame as well as a remarkable laurel wreath. The clock is set on a pedestal and joined by ribbons that fall on either side. The ribbons are decorated with with elegant acanthus leaves and floral motifs. The beautiful dial surrounded by ribbons and pearled motifs is made out of enamel. It is signed “Raingo brothers Paris” and includes roman and Arab numerals that alternate with a motif of a gold fleurs de lys. The clock hands are delicately chiseled and feature openwork carving. The rectangular rounded base is decorated with foliated scrolls and floral ornaments. The Red Griotte marble, takes its name from the cherry coloured marble with the same name, its bright red colour was very popular during the 18th century, especially in royal apartments.
